Helen Catherine Moshenrose, age 89, of Ocean Springs, peacefully passed into her Heavenly home on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 surrounded by family.
A longtime resident of Ocean Springs, "Granny" as she was commonly known, touched many lives and never met a stranger, whether at church or in the checkout line while shopping. Any friend of a family member was accepted and treated as family. Her sense of humor and love of life put a smile on many faces and her stories will live forever.
Her hobbies included arts and crafts, bowling, cooking, and watching her beloved Saints. She also loved boating, fishing, bingo, and occasionally dropping a nickel or two in the slots. She lived life to the fullest and encouraged everyone around her to do the same.
There is no doubt that the world is a little dimmer without her here. Just as certain is that she will be waiting in Heaven for each of us.
She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Charles Moshenrose of Ocean Springs; her mother, Agnes Reynolds, her father, Victor Reynolds, and her brother, Victor Reynolds, Jr., all of Savannah, Georgia.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Loretta and her husband, Jerry "Scotty" Scott, of Pascagoula; her son, Paul Moshenrose, Sr. and his wife Vonda, of Ocean Springs; three grandchildren, Ashley Moshenrose Peto and her husband, David, Brandee Moshenrose and her fiance, Bryan Aust, all of Ocean Springs, Paul Mosenrose, Jr. of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and great-grandson, Caleb Stein of Ocean Springs. She is also survived by one sibling, Delmar Reynolds of Savannah, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer a house plant or a donation be made to your local animal shelter.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 9, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a chapel service Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
