Holen Hunter Grantham

Mr. Holen Hunter Grantham, age 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Ocean Springs on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. Hunter was born in North Biloxi and had been a resident of Ocean Springs since 1967. Upon graduating from New Braunfles High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He later went on to complete his degree in accounting at St. Mary's University, all while working for the city water board and raising a family. After moving to Ocean Springs, he went to work for Ingalls Shipbuilding, where he retired after 30 years. Hunter was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church where he was active in the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He also volunteered with The Lord is My Help organization, delivering meals for those in need. Hunter was preceded in death by his father, Holen Hunter Grantham, Jr, mother, Mary Grantham Cochran and stepfather, Edwin Cochran, Sr. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Sandra Brooks Grantham, five daughters, Tina Sentell (Charles), Gaye Cantrell, Shari Pol, Karen Richards (David) and Susie Riley (John), fourteen grandchildren, Christina, Charlie, Christopher, Justin, Grant, Lauren, Courtney, Laura, Andrew, Lindsey, Camille, Anna, Holly and Hunter and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Bonifer (Joe), Susan Toche (Wesley) and Patricia King (Timmy) and brothers, Ed Cochran, Jr (Dell)and Bob Cochran (Nancy). Hunter enjoyed golfing, fishing and watching sports, but most of all spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 29, from 9:30 am until 11:00 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, all at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs.
