Ima Juanita “Sweetie” Graham, age 90, of St. Martin, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospice in Gulfport, MS. She was born in Vicksburg, MS on May 11, 1927.
Juanita was an active member of the North Bay Senior’s Club where she attended with her longtime friend, Lois Gandy. She was a member of the St. Martin Lions Club where she served as president for several years and was voted Lioness of the Year three different times. Juanita loved playing bingo, going shopping, collecting butterflies, spending time with family and friends and watching the New Orleans Saints. Juanita was known for her homemade macaroni and cheese and her famous chicken dressing. She loved spending time each year helping her nieces make up a big batch of dressing for the holidays. She loved the holidays.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James T. “Jack” Graham; parents, Alfa and Lucy Mae Potter; son, Albert Graham; daughter-in-law, Debbie Graham: siblings, Irvin Potter, Georgia Mae Clark, Lurline Cole, Inez Harmon, Marie Howell, Joseph Potter and W.T. Potter.
Juanita is survived by her son, Arnold Graham, (Shari); grandsons, Jim Graham, Albert Graham, Eddie Graham (Torie) and John Graham (Nicole), granddaughters, Sara Bostwick and Tami Graham; great-grandchildren, Caden, Ellis, Chris, Emma and Jon Elle; and numerous relatives that loved her dearly.
The family would like to thank Lorena Vassalli for everything she has done for Juanita over the years and for always being there for her in the end no matter what hour of the night. We would also like to thank St. Joseph’s Hospice for the loving care they showed her during her last days.
Funeral services will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home in Biloxi on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Noon. Friends may visit between 10:30 am and noon. Interment will follow at D’Iberville Memorial Park.
