Isaac Joseph "Guitar Bo" Darensbourg Jr.

Isaac Joseph Darensbourg Jr, also known as Guitar Bo, age 81, devoted father and lifelong resident of Bay St. Louis, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, June 19, 2019. Guitar Bo was born in Bay St. Louis on Easy Street, where he graduated from St. Rose High School in 1955. Guitar Bo was an active member of the community. During his lifetime, he served as a lawn man and a musician. He and a few of his friends formed one of the hottest bands in the 60’s called The Claudette Duo, where he played Guitar. In his spare time, he cared for the lawns of many doctors of the Mississippi Coast. He is most famous as Guitar Bo, where he traveled from coast to coast performing with this band. Traveling is where he met the love of his life Deloreis Darensbourg, also known as Miss Dee. Guitar Bo never met a stranger and was well-known and respected throughout Hancock County. He took time out to show family and friends as well as grandchildren how to play the guitar. He was a modern-day BB King. Guitar Bo was a faithful member of the St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church and faithful tither. He loved doing events for the church. He has dedicated all of his life to his community and to God. He often remarked on how much he loved the Lord. He was preceded in death by his father, Isaac Joseph Darensbourg Sr and mother, Agusta Darensboourg. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Delories Darensbourg; son, Isaac Joseph Darensbourg III; daughters, Donna Darrensbourg, Terry Darensbourg and Bessie Lee Wilson (James Thomas); sister, Joyce Darensbourg; grandchildren: Jarmaicia Payne, Deloris Mccants, Fredrick Bell, Joseph Bell, and Geneva Mitchell; and great grandchildren: Lonnie Bell, Enick Bell, Shaquille Bell, Trishonda Bell, Fredrick Bell Jr, Dejonique Bell, Jeremiah Bell, and Ehrmani Payne. He also has 19 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and family. Funeral services will be performed by Reverend Charles Ndumbi at the St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, MS on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 11:00 am where friends may visit from 9:00 am until service time.
