Jacob "Jakie" Davis Guice, Jr.

On Wednesday, September 22, 2021, Jacob “Jakie” Davis Guice, Jr., 72 was called back home by God with family at his side. Jacob was born in Biloxi, MS on May 8, 1949 and was the second oldest son to Jacob Davis Guice and Joelean Ann Guice (“JoJo” to grandchildren and “Jo” to everyone else). He was a proud local of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Jacob graduated from Biloxi High School with the class of 1967. Afterwards, he attended The University of Mississippi – Ole Miss and was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, also known as “The Pikes”. Jacob was committed to the advancement and growth of The Gulf Coast. During his 30+ years as a Commercial Real Estate Developer he was involved in numerous hotel projects and was the Lead Realtor to assemble the property for D’Iberville’s Promenade Center. To his friends and family Jacob was always a friendly face, a comforting chat, and never anything less than a southern gentleman. Growing up he was considered the life of the party and easily loved for his charm. His ability to speak on any given topic attracted all. His labor of love included refinishing furniture and gardening flowers, fruits, and vegetables. Hobbies included dancing but specifically the Cha-Cha and the Fast Swing, watching college football while smoking a cigar and drinking his wine, watching black and white films, travel by Cruises, and War History. Jacob belonged to the Biloxi First United Methodist Church and was an active member of their Finance Committee. Jacob was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Davis Guice and Joelean Ann Guice. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Betty Fay Guice; his daughter, Monique Guice (Grant) Gallick; and granddaughter, Kasey Isabelle Gallick. He is also survived by his brother, William Lee "Billy" (Gayla) Guice, III; and sister, Virginia Ann "Ginger" (Charles) Clark. Jacob wanted to be remembered to Keith A. (Bonnie) Ladner, Kelli A. (Fred) McQueen and Matthew Ladner; six step grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until 11:00 am and funeral service at 11:00 am Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the Biloxi First Methodist Church, 14220 Shriners Blvd, Biloxi, MS 39532.
