James Allen Cazzell

James Allen Cazzell, age 62 of Vancleave, MS passed away on May 17, 2021. He was born on March 20, 1959 in Biloxi, MS. On Monday May 17th, 2021 Jimmy Cazzell (aka “big Jim”) went with his close friends to enjoy a day of relaxation and fishing on Horn Island. The good Lord saw fit to bring him home while he was in a place that was special to him doing what he loved. Jimmy served in the Air Force K-9 team for 11 years, served as a Lieutenant with the Gautier Police Department for 26 years, and after retirement, he went to work as a campus police at Ocean Springs Hospital. He loved serving his community and knowing he was keeping us all safe. Jimmy leaves behind his wife of 42 years, who was his world. Life will be hard without him, and there will be a space that can never be filled. Your duty to protect and serve on this earth is now over, but now you will watch over and protect us all from high above. Rest in peace my rock, my strength, my everything. Mr. Cazzell was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Fern New Cazzell; and brother, Ronnie Wayne Cazzell. He is survived by his wife, Rose “Renee” Cazzell of Vancleave, MS; father, Howard Franklin (Maddie Bell) Cazzell; two daughters, Dusti (Matt) Witmore of North Carolina and Natosha (John) Guice of Ocean Springs, MS; son, James “JJ” Cazzell of Kansas City, MO; two sisters, Tammy McMillian (Dennis) Hebert of Vancleave, MS and Donna McMillian (John) Butirich of Gulf Hills, MS; three brothers, Johnny Edward Cazzell of Fort Worth, TX, Dalton (Janice) McMillian of Vancleave, MS, and Phillip (Cindy) McMillian of Vancleave, MS; five grandchildren, Scarlett, Gracie, JT, Trip, and Ayla; and a host of nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with an 11:00 a.m. service all at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, MS. Burial will be held at the Biloxi National Cemetery. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs is honored to serve the family of Mr. James Cazzell.
