James Laverne Keenum

James Laverne Keenum, age 55, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Thursday, September 9th, 2021, in Gautier, MS. He was born August 27, 1966, in Santa Ana, CA. He graduated from Ocean Springs High School and went to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for Computer Science. He loved watching sports especially NASCAR, the Houston Texans, the Houston Astros, and the Texas Longhorns. He loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed cooking BBQ, Smoked, and Grill foods. James was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Sue Keenum, Grandparents Jim Riley Keenum, Jeanette Lou Parker Keenum, Laverne Martin Whitley, and Lura Mary Dean Moore. Survivors include his children, James Aaron Keenum, Joshua William Keenum, and Johnathan Edward Keenum; father, Charles Larry Keenum Sr.; siblings, Tracy Lynn (Buddy) Ladnier, Dr. Charles Larry (Carrie) Keenum, Jr., and Rusty Lee (Victoria) Keenum; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nephews; former spouse and lifelong friend, Lisa Carol Cowart Vaughn. “I want to thank my cancer team, surgical team, and my regular doctor, all the nurses, and the employees at Burnham pharmacy that have taken care of me these past 4 years, it means a lot to me.
