Jessie Mae Bang

Jessie Mae “Granny” Bang, age 78 of Vancleave, MS passed away on November 10, 2020 at Karen’s personal care home in Vancleave, MS. She was born April 12, 1942 in Vancleave to Jessie and Mary Janie Waltman. She completed school up to the eighth grade. She was a caregiver and loved puzzle books and puzzles. Jessie is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Adams, Mary Janie Bang Waltman, and G.W. Bang; children, Mary Annette Bang Shehorn, Robert Dale Bang, and Eva Jane Bang; and sibling, Magaline Waltman. She is survived by her children, Connie A. Ely of Vancleave, MS and Sam Wesley (Nancy) Bang of White, GA; siblings, Leroy (Meddie) Waltman and Mary Lou James; grandchildren, Joshua Areal Ely, R.T. and Cristy Ely, and Jessica Ely; great-grandchildren, Wrangler Ely, Lane, Haley, Mckensie, Catherine, Harrison, Ava, Darren Smith, Daegan, L.J., and Conleigh Martin. The family would to extend a thank you to Karen Richards and family and Kim Dewberry and family for taking such good care of their mother and making her final days as comfortable as possible. The family would also like to thank the following gentleman for serving as pallbearers, Randy Stringer, Glen Ely, Jason Ely, Chris Babieux, Daniel Richard, Henry Bufkin, and Honorary Pallbearer, David Taylor. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a service at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 14, 2020 all at Vancleave Holiness Church. A burial will follow at Beulah Cemetery in Vancleave, MS. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Vancleave is honored to serve the Bang family.
