Jo Love Thornton, 64, of Biloxi, MS passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019 in Biloxi.
Jo Love was born April 2, 1955 in New Orleans, LA and graduated from Biloxi High School. She designed and renovated The Carriage House, which once belonged to Baldwin Woods, and was put on National Historical Registry. Jo Love was an entrepreneur for The Factory Restaurant and Magnolia’s Restaurant. She was part owner of Due South Charter Boats and Tee Shirt Shop. Jo Love loved to write poetry, water ski, boating and horseback riding. Later in life, she enjoyed traveling and painting, anything to do with art and she had a great love for animals.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Robert Thornton, III; and her brother, Robert Michel Thornton.
Jo Love is survived by her mother, Shirley Ann Thornton; her brother, Greg M. (Lisa) Thornton; her nephews, Robert Thornton and Michel Thornton; her niece, Atalie Leslie Thornton; her great nephew, Jacob Thornton; and her great niece, Ava Thornton.
A Graveside Service will be held at Southern Memorial Park on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 10:00 am.
A Celebration of Jo Love’s life will be held at her home, 1216 Beach Boulevard on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Family and friends are welcome.
The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
