John Anthony Morillon

John Anthony Morillon, age 54, died Aug 20th 2021 after six weeks of fighting so hard to beat Covid 19. John Morillon a Native of Stockton, CA joined the Military and was sent to Gulfport Mississippi and was part of Battalion NMCB 7. He met his wife Leah Morillon in 1989 and settled in Mississippi after marriage in 1991. John Morillon. He is the son of the late Dionicia Morillon and Beatrice Gertrude Morillon. John's mother Beatrice volunteered many years of her services to a Medical Caravan for homeless people that went all over the Stockton and other areas that provided free health and medicine to anyone that could not afford or were homeless. Her giving heart is why I believe that John Morillon grew up with such a giving and loving heart as well. John Morillon was a father figure to many young men and women that he met. His love for his Country and Military never died. He started work on Navy Base at the Auto Skills Center as a part-time job at first just to get out and keep busy. Soon thereafter he took lead position as the Manager. From that point He brought his knowledge and skills of mechanics to the shop and with that he changed the Auto Skills Shop forever. His personal touch and his vast knowledge soon the word got around . He would have kids from all over hearing about the "New Guy " at the skill center. And when they came here they knew to look for the man that knew cars when they got here. He did not just sit behind a desk and soak up air as he could have done. But, instead He worked and gave guidance to anyone that had a question he would find the answers and help any way he could. He saved people thousands of dollars by teaching them skills on how to fix their own vehicles. He was so well known that most times the bays of the shop were filled . He loved his job. He could not wait to get up each day and head to work. He revieved so many great remarks at the shop that he was handed the following awards while there. He recieved the DON Superior Civilian Service Award Letter of Appreciation from Commanding Officer . A letter from President Trump for his Outstanding Support and Accomplishments. He received so many letters of praise from so many military and retired military about his excellent help and expert advice. That was John...He tirelessly gave his time to anyone in need and sometime leaving him little time to finish his on projects. John never met a stranger. He would talk to anyone and his vast knowledge of cars and his many years of travel in Military made him be very resilient and easy to talk to. John also was who he was and people could see that. He did not fake or put on a persona. He was as real as they come. His family life was his first and foremost love. He was a dedicated husband and father but he was even greater pop pop. His children Breanna Morillon Cox and Jonathan Dakota Morillon never wanted for anything. He loved his children with all that he had and ever could. But when his two grandchildren were born he was instantly the best pop pop ever. His world revolved around those boys. Not a day went by without him saying something about them. And Ryker Elias Cox and Wyatt Randell Cox loved their pop pop incredibly and they miss him just as much. John Morillon also has a second family his brothers in arms. His military family have been a great part of his life as well. They share military gatherings where for a moment they all get to see one another once a year to catch up and drink mead and have fun. This last gathering he gave a toast to fallen brothers and said " Boys we all getting old and ya never know when one of us will go next so let's spend more time together." Only two weeks later he was diagnosed with Covid Where he quickly declined in health but fought like a Seabee! In the end he was so weak he could not even talk. He would get on video through FB messenger and so weak he would point at his eye, his heart and to us. He would be extremely exhausted just from that. He was ventilated and 3 weeks he fought but the damage that Covid caused was too much in the end. We watched one of the strongest men change right in front of us. He lost so much weight that he was barely recognizable in the end. John has left an impact on this coast and his death hopefully reminds you to kiss your spouse more often. To hug your friends more. Tell the ones you care for how much they mean. And like John help your neighbors out. Help strangers out. Kindness is key to a world especially now. John stayed in hospital room 316 and his favorite verse from the Bible was JOHN 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” He lived his life full without regrets and asked very little of others but gave everything to anyone in need. Johns passing has devastated many and mostly his family and close friends. He left his two beautiful children behind. Breanna Cox and Jonathan Morillon Son -in - law Robert Cox His two grandsons Ryker and Wyatt Cox. And His Wife Leah Morillon. He will forever be loved and missed. May God Bless Us all and If John was here he would want you all know how much he appreciates all you have done for his family. Thank you From His Family.
