Joseph “Joe” Aaron Posey, 28, of Gulfport was suddenly taken from this world on April 9, 2021 in Latimer, MS. Family and friends are invited to the Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue in Biloxi on Monday, April 19 for visitation from 5pm-7pm with a memorial service at 7pm. There will be a Celebration of Life Potluck immediately following the service at the Cypress Taphouse in Ocean Springs.
Joe was born on October 13, 1992 to Charles and Robin Posey in Amory, MS, but he was a life-long resident of the Gulf Coast. After attending Biloxi High School, Joe primarily worked in steel construction and spent much of his free time surrounded by his friends and family.
Those that knew him best called him the life of the party, a cowboy that was strong and passionate. He lived life to the fullest and had no fear. He was loyal, independent and open with his love and emotions. Most of all, his infectious smile and dimples would light up any room he entered.
Joe’s greatest pride was his children: James (3), Josie (2) and Journey (1). They brought out the best in him, and he loved them with all his heart. Now, he will be their guardian angel protecting them from above.
Joe is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Bobbie Posey and Merry Taylor; his beloved uncle, Brian Reid; and his twin siblings, Darwyn and Blythe Reid.
He is survived by his children, James Wiliam, Josie Ione and Journey Marie Posey; his parents Charles E. Posey (Glenda) and Robin Reid Brolaski (Mike); grandparents, Edward L. Reid Sr. (Beth) and Carol Brolaski; siblings Joshua (Ame’) and Jacob Posey (Melanie), Amber Carpenter (Joshua) and Rebecca Sheppard (William); his niece, Taylor Ann Marie Posey; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Donations to help with Joe’s final expenses can be made directly to Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home in lieu of flowers.
The family would like to thank Bradford O’Keefe, Les Belle Fleur, Les Badineurs, the Ole Biloxi Marching Club and friends for their outpouring of support, love, hugs and prayers through this process.
Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the Posey family.
