Mr. Joseph William Kenyon, Jr., age 89 of D’Iberville, passed away at his residence on Friday, November 9, 2018.
Mr. Kenyon was born on September 28, 1929 in Westerly, Rhode Island. He was a past Commodore of the Westerly Rhode Island Yacht Club. He was employed as a Naval Architect and with the State Police of Rhode Island. He was a U.S. Air Force Sergeant during the Korean War. During his spare time, he enjoyed duck and deer hunting, fishing, golfing, scuba diving and flying. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and a gracious and honorable friend.
Mr. Kenyon is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph W. Kenyon, Sr. and Agnes L. Kenyon.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Kenyon; children, George W. McAllister, Jr. (Joy), James H. McAllister (Nancy), and Jeffrey S. McAllister (Cindy); grandchildren, Nick Stiles (Brandy), Jania Adams (Michael), Anne Marie Miller (Craig), Jill Brumfield (Jonathan), Jeremy McAllister (Kathleen), Jacob McAllister, Kelsi McAllister and Austin McAllister; great grandchildren, Tyler Miller, Faith Adams, Haley Stiles, Gavin Stiles, Anchor Adams, Daniel Brumfield, and Brooks Brumfield; and brother, David G. Kenyon.
The family would like to thank Annie, Tracy (Kare in Home), and Dr Paul Pavlov for their care and compassion.
A memorial service will be held at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home at 4pm on Friday, November 16, 2018. Friends may visit from 3-4pm. Per his request, his cremains will be scattered in the Gulf of Mexico and in Atlantic Ocean off Rhode Island.
