Josephine Victoria Lanty

Josephine Victoria Lanty, age 94, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in Ocean Springs, MS. She was born September 28, 1923 in Corona, NY to Michael and Josephine Laurita. She served in the United States Marine Corps from 1943 until 1945 and was also a homemaker. Josephine is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 71 years, Raymond J. Lanty, Jr; her son-in-law, Jim O'Neal; and her siblings, Edna Laurita Livuti and Austin Laurita. Survivors include her children, Raymond J. (Linda) Lanty III, Michael (Rosalie) Lanty, Vicki Ann O'Neal, and James Lanty; seven grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to Feed My Sheep in Ocean Springs or the Humane Society in Gulfport. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Maggie at Home Instead Senior Care, The Gardens Assisted Living, and Ocean Springs Hospital. Graveside service will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
