Joshua Vernon Salter

Joshua Vernon Salter, age 48, of Vancleave, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at MD Anderson in Houston, TX. Joshua was born on January 27, 1972 in Pascagoula, MS and graduated from Vancleave High school in 1991. Joshua worked at Ingall’s for 29 years. He was an avid hunter and also enjoyed fishing and eating breakfast with the “breakfast club” at Grady’s. Joshua was preceded in death by his father Larry Salter; step-mother, Merle Salter; brother, Mark Salter; and sister, Robin Salter. Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Sheila Salter; mother, Betty Gagnon; daughter Kaley Salter; brothers, Timothy Lee Salter and Daniel James (Deborah) Salter; step-sisters, Pamela Dilling, Meridan (Ben) Bradley, and Christina (Nathen) Goeke; nephews, Hunter, Jared, and Zachery Salter and Justin Strong; and his grand dog, Bregz Salter. A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2020, at the Vancleave Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends may visit one-hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Hunter Salter, Jared Salter, Derlyn Odom, Michael Mohr, Brad Nelson, Jamie Stinson, Dale Gill, and Austin Gill.
