Joy Cockrell

Dr. Joy Cockrell, age 92, of Gulfport passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 in Gulfport. She was born in New Orleans, LA. She was educated at the University of Southern Mississippi, Millsaps, Belhaven and the University of Florida. She obtained a doctorate of education and was Personnel Director for the Jackson Public School System. She enjoyed reading and traveling. Dr. Cockrell was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. N.L. and Margarette Cockrell. There will be a graveside service Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood, MS.
