Judith (Judy) Ann Ball passed away on July 11, 2021 after a brief illness. She was 78 years old.
Judy was born in Portsmouth, NH on October 14, 1942, to Mary and David Smith. She was a graduate of Portsmouth High School in 1961 and New England Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in 1964. She joined the U.S. Air Force Reserve and served as a nurse at U.S. Air Force bases in San Antonio, TX, and Suffolk, England. She departed the military as a Captain in 1969 to focus on her family. After raising her two children, she returned to the nursing profession as an instructor at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Nursing and Allied Health Programs, Gulfport, MS.
In retirement, Judy was known for delivering goodies around the neighborhood, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by her sisters, Jani Smith and Joan O’Toole.
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Marie Durlacher (Robert); son, David Gary Ball (Anne); grandchildren, Madeleine and Zayd; nephews, Christopher O’Toole and Matthew O’Toole; and niece, Jennifer Folzenlogen.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on 15th Street in Gulfport on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until service time.
