June Lawrence Migues

June Lawrence Migues, 95, was born in Biloxi, MS June 7, 1926 and died on September 1, 2021 in Ocean Springs, MS. June graduated from Biloxi High School class of 1944 as Salutatorian with a GPA of 95.69. She was Secretary of the Student Council and Treasurer of the National Honor Society. June was an officer for the English and Latin Club. She was a member of the Drama Club and on the Senior board of Directors. June was selected “Most Likely to Succeed”. She was a member of the high school social club Alpha Delta Kappa. June was part owner with her father and uncle of the American Restaurant in downtown Biloxi where Ellzey’s Hardware is today. While June was working at the restaurant Eddie was a Biloxi police officer and he sent her a telegram to the restaurant to propose marriage and the rest was history. She was a lifelong Accountant and Notary for many local Biloxi Businesses. June was also a life time income tax preparer. June and Eddie were the film producers of 8mm film for the King and Queens of GCCA for 26 years. She was a Past President of the Biloxi Post 2434 VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Past President of the Biloxi Yacht Club Ladies Auxiliary. Over the years she enjoyed boating, water skiing, and working sudoku puzzles and spending time with her dog, Jazzie. Her grandkids say she made the best Lemon Pound Cake. June was a saint and will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Eddie R. Migues Sr.; her parents, Chris J. Lawrence, Sr. and Myrtle Schneider Lawrence; and her grandson, Todd Migues. She is survived by her daughter, Shelley Migues Jarvis (Kevin); her stepson, Eddie R. Migues Jr. (Sherry); her grandchildren, Bobby Migues, Tony Migues (Lori), Shawn Migues, Ashley Migues and Brandy Jarvis; five great-grandchildren; her siblings, Chris J Lawrence Jr. (Cathy), May Tubre and Katherine Randall; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her dog, Jazzie. Thank you to Ocean Springs Hospital, Dr. Adam Justice, Dr. Richard Smith, her personal care assistant, Susan Faulkenberg and Kare in Home Health providers and care assistants. Pallbearers are Kevin Jarvas, Bobby Migues Jr., Tony Migues, Shawn Migues, Dustin Polovich and John Meynardie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church in Biloxi on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 11:00 am. Family visitation will begin at 9:00 am and friends may visit from 10:00 am until Mass time. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park. There will be no reception due to Covid. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral home is honored to serve the Migues family. Flowers are welcome but you can also send donations in her name to Jackson County Animal Shelter, 4400 Audubon Lane, Gautier, MS 39553. You can also bring Purina Dog or Cat food to the back of the church at the Mass as well.
