Kami Demelo, age 46 of D'Iberville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9, 2020 surrounded by family. She fought Cholangiocarcinoma bravely for four years.
Kami joined her mother and father, Dudley and Doreen Vercher; and nephew, Stephen Begley in Heaven. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Carlos Demelo; and her four sons, Trevor, Dusty, Colin, and Brandon. She also leaves behind 6 sisters, 1 brother, and 17 nieces and nephews.
Kami had a beautiful, brave soul. She was a nurse at Garden Park Medical Center. Kami loved her family, her career, and taking selfies. She lit up any room she walked in and had an infectious laugh that no one will forget. Her optimism kept her smiling, even through the hard times. Her boys were her life and her love for her husband was like no other. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at Heritage United Methodist Church in D’Iberville on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to visit one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking any donations to be made in Kami's name to The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation.
