Katherine Bailey Bradford

Katherine Bailey Bradford died peacefully surrounded by family on January 1, 2021 after a courageous 13-year battle with cancer. Born on April 20, 1948 in Lambert, Mississippi, she lived her adult life on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for 50 years. Katherine studied at both Ole Miss and Auburn University, receiving her degree from Auburn in Fashion Merchandising and Design. She practiced Interior Design for most of her career, and in the last 15 years focused exclusively on Kitchen and Bath design. Katherine was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Marjorie Bailey; stepmother Grace Bailey; father-in-law Herman Bradford; and her husband of 40 years, Lanny Bradford. Survivors include her brothers, Fred Bailey, Jr., Glenn Bailey (Eleanor), Van Bailey (Ruth) of Batesville, MS; two daughters, Lisa Capell (John) of Montgomery, AL, and Andrea Bradford of Long Beach, MS; and grand pups Biscuit and Lulu; and many nieces and nephews. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a graveside service will be held on January 5th for immediate family. A memorial service at First Baptist Church Long Beach will be held at a later, safer date. The family deeply appreciates the loving care and guidance of Dr. Allison Wall and her amazing team at Hematology Oncology Partners, and the kind and caring staff at Canon Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church Long Beach, 300 N Cleveland Avenue, Long Beach, MS 39560, or a charity of your choice. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street in Gulfport, is honored to serve the Bradford family.
