Mrs. Kay Francis Thorp, age 66, of Vancleave, MS, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 22, 2021.
Kay was born on September 8, 1954 in Biloxi, MS and attended Vancleave Live Oak School. She was a homemaker and loved playing dice, sitting in her hen house and drinking coffee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Napoleon and Cornelia Bang Moore and brother, Napoleon Moore Jr.
Survivors include her spouse, James Keith Thorp, children, Lawanda (Wayne) Waltman, Jennifer (Henry Dale) Bufkin, Daphine (Thomas) Lizana, (7) grandchildren, TJ (Jessica), Wynonna (Jeff), Raymond, Jon, Chasedy (Hunter), Cody, Summer (Darnell), six great-grandkids, Remington, Kaylynn, Jaxon, Kayla, Aniyah and DJ, siblings, Jenny Foster, Gaynell Bang, Bessie Bennett, Jerry Moore, Letta Smith, LeRoy Moore, Edna Reeder, Racheal Sullivan and Mary Heistand, numerous nieces and nephews, her pet, Scooter and her special bond friends, Bessie, Letta, Louise, Mack, Travis and Shelby Anderson.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 26, from 6pm until 8pm, at the Vancleave Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Friday, August 27, Mrs. Thorp will lie in state from 10am until 11am, with an 11am church service, at Pine Lake Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Beulah Cemetery, McGregor Rd, Vancleave, MS. There will be a gathering for family and friends after the burial at Pine Lake Baptist Church.
