Lewis “Lew” Eugene Hood, age 86, of Biloxi passed on December 27, 2017 in Biloxi, MS.
Lew was a longtime resident of the MS Gulf Coast, and he never net a stranger. Lewis gave honorable and faithful service to his country while serving in the United States Air Force from which he retired. He also served in the Korean War. He was recognized for Meritorious Service, Korean Service and Honorable Discharge and Outstanding Civilian Public Support Award by the Governor of MS for his Red Cross service. He worked as a furniture manager for 20 years at Gayfers Department Store and was the owner of the Sofa Gallery. He was a Boy Scout Leader Troop 244 Keesler AFB, Crossing Guard for Jeff Davis Elementary School and a Red Cross Volunteer. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Billie Grace Hood. They were married 64 years and are reunited again. He is also preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Lucille Hood.
Survivors include his two sons, that he adored, Lewis (Jan) Hood and Kim (Lynna) Hood; grandchildren, Michael Hood, Jessica Wood and Tayah Hood; and siblings, Jodi Bennett and Margie White.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 9am at Biloxi National Cemetery. Family will receive any guest at the family home following the service.
