Lillian T. Bengochea of Biloxi, MS passed away on February 7, 2021.
She was born on August 21, 1951 in Attleboro, MA as Lillian Theresa Pierce. She graduated from Attleboro High School in 1971. In 1991, Lillian moved to Jacksonville, AR where she worked as a Health Aid for the Little Rock Hospital. Lill met her husband, Martin Bengochea, at Little Rock AFB, Arkansas. They moved to Biloxi, MS in 1992, where she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant becoming State and National Certified while working at Biloxi Care Center. She continued her career at the Biloxi Veterans Administration Hospital, both as a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Medical Clerk. Lill retired after eighteen years, on December 31, 2013 from the VA hospital ward, Employee Health, Urgent Care, and Women’s clinic. She enjoyed camping, traveling, fishing, and Mardi Gras. Lill was a former member of the Krewe of Harlequin, Krewe of Isadora formerly known as the Krewe of Isis. She was a member of Calypso Carnival Krewe and the Fleur de Lis, ladies auxillary.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Virginia Pierce; brothers, Joseph Pierce of Attleboro and Richard Pierce.
She is survived by her husband, Martin Bengochea; children, Lisa Wozny, Jamie Joe Mahon, Robbie Sitko, Steven Bengochea, Delilah Bengochea Carter, and Ricardo Bengochea; sisters, Janet Robey of Gautier, Iva Roedl of Vancleave, and Mary Barrett of Gautier; sisters- in-law, Mary Pierce of Attleboro, MA and Judy Pierce of Florissant, MO; and grandchildren, Kristin, Angelica, and Jacob Wozney, Hannah Sitko, Kaneah Bengochea, Ashley, Lauren, and Giovanni Thacker, Alejandro and Kyra Bengochea.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Lillian’s favorite charities; St. Jude’s Children Hospital and Shriner’s Children Hospital.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021 all at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Pass Rd, Biloxi.
