On Monday, May 17, 2021, at the age of 89, Lionel E. Sentell Sr. “Fat Boy” passed away.
Lionel was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He was born on November 28, 1931 to Charles and Ursuline Sentell at the Biloxi Fire Station on Fayard St. Lionel was a newspaper carrier for the Daily Herald, a 1949 Graduate of Notre Dame High School, served in the Navy, Life member of IBEW, Local 903, Electrical Inspector for The City of Biloxi, Life member of the Biloxi Elks Lodge 606. He was proud to be from Biloxi.
Lionel is preceded in death by his parents; by his wife of 47 years, Elinor Sentell; son Russell Sentell; and his 3 brothers, Charles, Russell and Carl Sentell.
He is survived by his sons Rocky (Sherry) Sentell and Randy (Ellen) Sentell; his daughter, Gina (Richard) Kostal; granddaughters, Christen (Christian) Mejica, Lindsay (Josh) Smith Sarah (Rino) Guerrero; grandsons, Ricky (Karen) Kostal, Ryan (Tyler) Kostal, Robert, Russell, Ronnie and Randy Sentell; great grandchildren, Ben, Miley, Trey, Elinor, Townes, Reece, Clara, Winsor, Reid, Camp and Maia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral. Friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
