Louis Victor Dusang, Sr

MSgt. Louis V. Dusang, Sr., age 79, passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018, in Gulfport. Lou was born in New Orleans, LA and had been a resident of the MS Gulf Coast since 1972. He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran with over 26 years of service. Upon his retirement from the military he continued his education at the Jeff Davis Campus of MS Gulf Coast Community College. He was employed with Civil Service at the Biloxi V A Medical Center for over 18 years. Lou was a member of several bowling leagues and enjoyed fishing, crabbing and playing with his dogs, Fluffy and Precious. Lou was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Louise Dusang; his son, Shane Dusang; sisters, Joan Rome, Joyce Caruso, and Catherine Cassagne; and brothers, Julius Dusang, Frank Dusang and George Dusang. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sylvia Villere Dusang; children, Louis V. (Cynthia) Dusang, Jr., Damon (Cindy) Dusang and LeAna Dusang; grandchildren, Diamond Dusang, Louis Dusang, III, Desiree Dusang, Rebekah Dusang, Shane Dusang and Kennedy Dusang; sisters, Mildred Holland, Judy Bordelon and Dianne Relan; and brothers, Alfred Dusang and Paul Dusang. He is also survived by his faithful friend, Pauline Warren Callaghan. The family wishes to acknowledge their appreciation for the care provided Lou by the doctors, nurses and Techs of the 7th floor at Gulfport Memorial Hospital and Father John Ugochukwu for his support and prayers. They also offer special thanks to Ken Odom who was his faithful caregiver and friend for over 2 years. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to St. Vincent de Paul, c/o Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 2090 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS 39531. A Mass of Christian Burial is 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors. A celebration of life for close family and friends in the parish hall of Our Lady of Fatima following the burial. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
