Luevinnia "Deater" Massey Fortenberry

Luevinnia "Deater" Massey Fortenberry, age 81, of Biloxi, MS passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 in Moss Point. Mrs. Fortenberry was born in Lowndes County, AL on September 2, 1937 to Flora Robinson Massey and Isreal Massey. She attended Calhoun High School. Mrs. Fortenberry enjoyed cooking and loved animals. She was a member of First Baptist Missionary Church in Biloxi. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Fortenberry; her parents, Flora Robinson Massey and Isreal Massey; her brother, Isreal Frank Massey, Sr.; and her nephews, Frank Massey, Sr. and Dexter Massey. Mrs. Fortenberry’s survivors include her sister-in-law, Lela Massey; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Frank Massey, Jr., Tevin Massey, Eric, Kimberly, Jasmin and Dee; her Godchild, Nikki; a host of cousins, family and friends; and her cat, Foxy. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Sandra Cook, Clarese Robinson, Dorothy, Willie Mae, Albert, Val Brock, Hospice Team and Adlene Blanchard. A Graveside Service will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 9:00 am. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
