Luther "Dan" Daniel Tullis went home to be with his Lord on September 20, 2021 after battling an extended illness. Dan was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on May 29, 1952 to Albert L. Tullis and Martha N. Young both of Ringold, Louisiana. He attended Pearl River High School, was an avid gun collector, loved fishing, and anything outdoors. He was a member of 1st Harvest Church of Waveland, Mississippi and was known as "Colonel Dan". Dan was a proud Patriot, loved his Country and his fellow Americans. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Bennett- Tullis; and 4 children, Danny (Diane) Tullis of Slidell, Louisiana, Cass (Darren) Dawson of Coshocton, Ohio, Salenah Tullis of Millersburg, Ohio, and John Tullis also of Millersburg, Ohio. Dan also has 7 grandchildren who he held dear to his heart and was very proud of, Ansley, Ali, Christian, Collin, Meghan, Madeline, Logan, Kayden, and Taylar. Dan also has a sister, Tina (Paul) Cooper of Pearl River, Louisiana and a brother, Albert (Debbie) Tullis of Picayune, Mississippi and several nieces and nephews. Dan held may jobs in his life and was always looking for adventure, from being a Honey Island Swamp Range Officer and working for Weapon Training and Ammunitions in Pearl River to being Project Manager for both Hurricane Katrina and the BP oil spill disaster. He was preceded in death by both parents; and one sister, Barbara Tullis- King. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue in Biloxi is honored to serve the Tullis family.
