Lyle Leonard “Charlie” Wieck, 88, of Saucier, passed away with his loving children by his side on Thursday, January 21, 2021 in Gulfport, MS. Charlie was born in Muskegon, Michigan on December 1, 1932. He was the son of the late Wilson Lyle and Rose A. Wieck. Charlie attended The Fernwood Consolidated School and Biloxi Junior High and obtained an associate degree from Phillips Jr. College. He achieved three retirements. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and the U. S. Air Force, serving his country over 20 years. As an electronic instructor with the Air Force, he retired as a Technical Sergeant. He went on to retire from the U. S. Postal Service, and then retired after 25+years with H&R Block. He enjoyed teaching electronics and helping people with their income taxes. He loved telling jokes and stories. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Bernice J. ‘Bunny’ Fratta Wieck; sons, Ernest Lyle Wieck and Mitchell Leslie Wieck; siblings, Joyce L. (Lee P.) O’Dell, Cecilia J. (Johan ‘John’) Bakker, Shirley J. (Robert A. ‘Bob’) Bakker, Glen Dale Wieck, Sr.; and in-laws, Donald W. Carron and Burton Shoemaker. He is survived by his son, Michael L. (Tina) Wieck, of Ocean Springs, and his daughters, Teresa Wieck (Jeffery ‘JR’) Martin, of Gulfport and Tina Wieck (Dean) Perkins, of Biloxi; siblings, Louise R. Carron, Patricia J. ‘Patsy’ Shoemaker, Janet M. (Orey Lee) Krohn, Constance A. ‘Connie’ (Kenneth ‘Kenny’ D.) Robbins, Thomas W. ‘Gark’ (Shelia A. Vuyovich) Wieck, and Jerry J. ‘Tuffy’ (Janice Graham) Wieck; and grandchildren, Mitchell Lyle Wieck, Travis Michael (Trisha) Wieck, Marcus Logan Wieck, Jesse Ray Perkins, Justin Dean Perkins, Tyler Morgan Wieck, David George (Jennifer) Pushcar, and Sonysiska Atmadjaja; four great grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with a mass at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, D’Iberville, MS. Daddy will be laid to rest at the Old Biloxi Cemetery, Biloxi, MS with military funeral honors. Charlie was grateful for the care given him by Keesler Air Force Medical Center. With heartfelt gratitude, the family thanks Keesler Air Force Medical Center’s staff (ER, ICU and Floor 4D) for getting him through COVID and then caring to his needs. The family also thanks Beth Cox, of Gulfport and Tracy Hamel Ladner, Hospice. They were a Godsend to our family. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Biloxi Lions Club or the Patriot Guard. Envelopes & a basket will be available at the main entrance of the church. Daddy, we love you and already miss you terribly.
