Margaret Ann Dubaz

Loving wife to Mark, mother to Nicholas and Grandmother to Alma, Margaret Ann Dubaz (neé Poole) passed peacefully on Wednesday, June 13, 2018. Born in 1953 on a farm in Silver City, MS, Ann moved frequently during her childhood, but always called Flora home. She was the first in her family to attend college, and went on to practice as a nurse in Jackson, where she met Mark Dubaz, her husband of 36 years. After Mark joined the Air Force, Ann traveled the world in tow as a dedicated Air Force wife and doting mother to Nicholas. Ann was always a fixture in the Air Force community and volunteered avidly everywhere she lived. Across four countries and nine states, she embraced new places and cultures, but stayed true to her Mississippi roots, making her home a place of friendship and hospitality for all she met. Ann and Mark retired back home to Biloxi in 2012 where she spent her days relaxing on the patio with Mark, gardening, playing the machines at the IP, and shopping for her beloved granddaughter Alma. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched around the world. The Dubaz Family would like to thank the staff of Keesler AFB Medical Center for their dedicated and compassionate care. She is preceded in passing by her father, George Poole; her mother, Odell Renfroe Poole; her sisters, Rita Maddox and Brenda Lester; and her brother, George Arthur. Ann is survived by her husband, Mark Dubaz (Lieutenant Colonel, USAF, Ret.); her son, Nicholas Dubaz (Major, U.S. Army); her daughter-in-law, Anne Mocarski-Dubaz; her granddaughter, Alma; her sister, Dot Lancaster; and her brothers, David, William, and John Poole, along with numerous other family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, Biloxi, MS on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 12:00 pm. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until service time. As Ann was an avid gardener, flowers will be appreciated. A gathering will follow at the Slavonian Lodge, 159 Maple Street, Biloxi, MS.
