Margaret “Nana” Filipich Soper, age 94, of Biloxi passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.
Margaret was born in Biloxi on March 8, 1923. She grew up working in seafood factories. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church since 1985. She was the oldest living member of Slavonian Benedict Auxiliary.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Edward R. Soper; parents, Stjpan Filipich and Clara Leleaux Filipich; sisters, Emerite Lucille and Clara Filipich; brothers, Steve Filipich, Jr and Fr. Nicholas Filipich; granddaughter, Christine Rusher.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra “Kay” (Henry) Migues; son, James “Jimmy” (Carole) Soper; 5 grandchildren, Anthony (Deborah) Migues, Barbara Weikal, Margaret Nielsen, Tennie Jane Brockman and William Powell; and 7 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church. Friends may visit from 10-11am. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
