Margaret R. "Maggie" Gillespie, 87 of Biloxi, MS died at 10:45p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Canon Hospice in Gulfport, MS. Maggie was born in Tipton, IN to Isadore "Pat" Tragesser and Anna Hickner Tragesser. She married Louis Gillespie February 6, 1954 in St. John's Catholic Church, Tipton, IN. Maggie was a retired casino hostess, operator of her own daycare business, homemaker and mother to six children. She enjoyed sewing, jigsaw puzzles, travel, playing cards and dominos. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Biloxi since moving to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 1964.
Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Gillespie; her son, Brian Gillespie and her granddaughter, Stephanie Rideout. She is survived by her sons, Tim Gillespie, Father Martin Gillespie, Eric Gillespie and his wife, Beth, and Marc Gillespie and partner, Jason Ran; daughter, Rhonda Rideout and husband, Tim Rideout; eight grandchildren, Michael Gillespie and Lauren Gillespie, Brian Gillespie Jr., Eric Gillespie Jr. and wife, Ophelia, Randall Gillespie and wife, Melitta, Kristen Linnell and husband, Rich, Jonathan Rideout and wife, Shae, and DeAnna Rideout; seven great-grandchildren, Kyler Gillespie, Owen Gillespie, William Gillespie, Sam Gillespie, Jack Gillespie, Jordyn Rideout, and Jazelle Rideout. Maggie was the fifth of nineteen children. She is survived by her siblings Jane Folk, Esther Folk, Theresa Starke, Judy Collins, Barb Lipetri, Norma Stiner, Carol Mozzone, Agnes Hewitt, Gene Tragesser, and Edie Burke. She was preceded in death by her siblings Louis, George, William,Jerome, Phillip and Leonard Tragesser, Beatrice Toler and Dorothy Koors.
Visitation is Friday, February 22, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 p.m., at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, in Biloxi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where friends may visit one hour before service time.
