Maria Amparo Wargo

Amparo Wargo (Restrepo) was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven on November 26th, 2020 at the age of 76. Amparo was born on September 26th, 1944 in Medellin, Colombia to Fernando Restrepo and Margarita Restrepo. She later moved to Biloxi, Mississippi where she established a successful housekeeping business. For decades, she took care of many families and their homes across the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Many of her clients became her lifelong friends whom she loved and cared for like family. Amparo was a loving mother and a doting grandmother who cherished her grandchildren. She was known for selflessly giving her time and energy to her family, her friends and anyone who she knew was in need. She was a bright light, always wearing a beautiful smile and giving positive, uplifting words of love and encouragement. Her faith in her savior, Jesus Christ, was strong and unstoppable. With a mighty spirit and servant’s heart, Amparo made it her life’s mission to pour out the love of Jesus onto every person around her. Amparo was a dedicated member of Victory International Christian Center in Ocean Springs, MS; her church was her absolute favorite place to be. She adored her church family and she spent many of her days there, serving others and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amparo is survived by her son, Jeff Burks (Biloxi, MS); her grandchildren, Hannah Burks and Hayden Burks (Ocean Springs, MS); brothers, Jairo Restrepo and Humberto Restrepo; sisters, Carmenza Agudelo, Fabiola Restrepo, Olivia Cañas, and Hilda Restrepo, as well as many friends whom she cherished and considered to be part of her family. Amparo is preceded in death by her parents, Fernando Restrepo and Margarita Alviar Restrepo; brother, Alvaro Restrepo; sisters, Elva Restrepo and Feniver Flores. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 5th at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home in Biloxi, Mississippi. Pastor Carlton McCarter will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Amparo’s life. The family would like to thank Dr. Allison Wall and the nurses and staff at Memorial Hospital and Canon Hospice for their care and dedication.
