MSgt, E-8, U.S.M.C. Retired, Marion Lawrence “Larry” Hill, III Marion Lawrence “Larry” Hill, III, age 80 of Vancleave, Mississippi passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 14, 2021. Larry was born February 12, 1941, in Biloxi, Mississippi to Marion Lawrence Hill, Jr. and Ruby Klorer Hill. Prior to graduating in Cherry Point, North Carolina, Larry attended Notre Dame and Biloxi High. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for nearly three decades. Larry is a veteran of the Vietnam War. For his service, he earned a Purple Heart. He served honorably in the Marines, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant, E-8. After retirement, he worked for Metropolitan Insurance, Nationwide Insurance, and Ingalls Shipbuilding. Larry was of the Catholic faith, a Third-Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus Council # 5654, member of the American Legion Post 42, and a ham radio operator in the Jackson County Amateur Radio Association. As a licensed amateur ham radio operator, he was known by the call sign N5FBH. He served as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and CCD teacher at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Vancleave and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in D'Iberville, MS. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Marion Lawrence Hill, Jr. and Ruby Klorer Hill; son, Michael Hill, Sr., sister, Betty Hill Perlmutter; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Mary Ann Glavan Konish. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sandra Rosetti Hill; children, Kimberly Hill Hines (Kristopher, Sr.), Marion Lawrence Hill, IV.(Alison), Deborah Hill Rushing (Scott, Jr.); brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Holly Hill; brother-in-law, Stanley Perlmutter; grandchildren, Kristopher Hines, Jr., Kevin Hines, Kellie Hines Hicks, Kenneth Hines, Marion Hill, V., Jennifer Hill Kopszywa, Joshua Hill, Sean Hill, Jennifer Hill Blackwell, Michael Hill, Jr., Dylan Rushing, and Siera Rushing; great grandchildren, Kristopher Hines, III., Preslei Hines, Easton Hicks, Briley Hines, Maxton Hines, Isabella Hines, Ryker Hines, Walten Hines, Zackery Hines, Loretta Hines, Madilyn Hill, Emily Slaney, Kaden Dennis, Ian Kopszywa, Cobi Kopszywa, Gracie Hill, Lilly Hill, Hunter Stalnaker, Kyleigh Stalnaker, Kayla Ferguson, Taylor Ferguson, and Berkley Hill. Final Internment with Full Military Honors will be held at the Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Avenue, Biloxi, MS on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 10:00 AM. The family would like to send a special thank you to Father Henry McInerney who will officiate the graveside Rite of Committal. Also, a sincere appreciation to all the doctors, nurses, and staff at Keesler Medical Center and Kare-In-Home Hospice. Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the Hill family.
