Marjorie Olivia Chinn Glouner of Ocean Springs left this earth peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 3, 2020.
Margie was born in Biloxi, MS on April 22, 1956 to Richard and Adelaide Chinn. She attended Sacred Heart Girls Academy. She met the love of her life, Jeff Glouner, in Las Vegas and married him on May 3, 1986. In 2005 Jeff, Margie and their sons, Ryan and Beau, resettled on the Gulf Coast in Ocean Springs. Several years later the first Woody’s Roadside was opened. Margie had a passion for sharing her God-given musical talents as a performer and loved to entertain family and friends. Margie would host karaoke and ”Rock-N-Roll Bingo” until all hours of the night at Woody’s, leading the crowd in her favorite songs and transforming the restaurant floor into a stage with her charisma and star-power.
Margie was a beautiful person, inside and out. Known for her infectious laughter and witty, kind spirit, she truly never met a stranger. She was compassionate, loving and saw the good in everyone. To know her was to love her and be loved.
Among her siblings, Margie was a rebellious spirit who was passionate about being independent and traveling, often spontaneously. Her adventurous spirit brought her to many interesting places during her lifetime. When not pursuing her next adventure, she was much like her mom Adelaide, expressing love through cooking and entertaining family and friends. Many of these skills seemed to come so naturally, but Margie learned them first hand from her loving mother.
Margie’s magnetism attracted an eclectic group of close friends that she “collected” over the course of her life. This large inner-circle remains a loving and devoted group, many of who came from all corners to be with Margie alongside her family attending to her needs up to her very last days. In addition to singing, performing, traveling, and cooking Margie loved time with family and friends, especially the joy of her life, her grandson Adam.
Margie was preceded in death by her father, Richard H. Chinn and her nephew, Joey Chinn.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Jeff Glouner, two sons, Ryan (Lindsay and Adam) Glouner and Beau (Rachel) Glouner, her mother Adelaide Taranto Chinn, her sisters Cathy Callegari (Merrick) and Carolyn Desporte (Anthony), her brothers Rocky Chinn and Danny Joe Chinn, her sister-in-law Carole Ann Kulla, a very dear aunt, Ethel Palmasano and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who she loved dearly.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 10:30 am followed by Mass at 12 noon.
Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve this family.
