Mary Monterey Allgood passed into God’s loving arms after a brief, but fierce battle with pancreatic cancer on Friday, July 13, 2018.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Castel Louis Allgood. They had three wonderful children together, Anthony (Debra) Allgood of Biloxi, James (Venecia) Allgood of Huntsville, AL, and Melody (Bill) Doyle of Tucson, AL. She was also blessed with 5 beautiful grandchildren, Dani (Kevin) Miller, Brandie (Will) Benoit, Heather (Jaime) Kalaw, Nickolas (Janie) Allgood and Christina Allgood; 4 great grandchildren, Zoe Miller, Kennedy Allgood, Autumn Allgood and Jackson Kalaw.
Mary was a faithful, loving and Christian wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her church, her family, friends and coworkers. She worked at Keesler Air Force Base for nearly 20 years in the child care industry, lastly as the Director over Child Care. She worked hard and worked with great pride and excelled in her position.
She was patient, kind and caring, always with a smile on her face, even at the end of her time here on Earth. She fought her battle with cancer with smiles and silence, not letting those around her know of her pain and discomfort. She was a true warrior with God in her corner, and she answered His call with dignity and joy in her heart. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her.
She has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a local Humane Society in her memory.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Big Ridge Baptist Church in D’Iberville at 11:00 a.m. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
