Mary Green-Pope

Mary Green-Pope (Lee Green-Pope) passed from this life at her home in Gulfport on May 22. She was preceded in death by her father, Vito DiSerio, mother, Rose DiSerio, first husband, William C. Green, Jr., son, Kevin Marc Green, and granddaughter, Jamie Green. She is survived by her husband, Hardy O. Pope, sons, William C. Green, III and Shannon M. Green (Elaine), daughter, Cassandra Conner (Johnny), brother-in-law, Patrick M. Green (Betty), nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Mary retired from the Harrison County Health Department as a District Clerical Supervisor. She was very active in both Gulfport Little Theatre and Biloxi Little Theatre, beginning as a performer and going on to direct both adult and children's productions. Several of her children’s productions were performed at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum. She was the author of four published children’s books. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Humane Society of South Mississippi, 2615 25th Avenue, Gulfport MS 39501. A private family service was held. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Pope family.
