Mary “Lisa” Valeros, age 54, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020. Mrs. Valeros was born on July 10, 1966, in Shreveport, Louisiana. She graduated from Jones Junior College with an Associate’s degree in Applied Sciences, then from William Carey University with a Bachelor’s degree in Education and Psychology. She helped teach kindergarten children at Harrison County Elementary, and was a Frontline Specialist for Child Protective Services. Mrs. Valeros also served as Assistant Director for CASA of Harrison County, and most recently became a counselor for Mississippi Behavioral Health providing invaluable mental health services for youth. She was on the William Carey University President’s List, and certified by the Mississippi State Department of Mental Health in Community Respite, Day Habilitation, and Day Services. She was also a certified nursing assistant, as well as a certified phlebotomy technician. She was trained in the prevention of teen suicide, and received many awards for her exceptional service. She loved riding motorcycles, and is a proud member of the Patriot Guard Riders, where she is also affectionately known as “Honey Bunny”, a name her husband always called her. She loved to travel and spend time with family, was an avid cook, and adored spoiling her grandkids. Everyone she met she infected with love, smiles, and laughter. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sammy and Faye Santora, as well as her siblings Evelyn Wilson and Marie Curtis. She is survived by her loving husband Eddie Valeros, and children Crystal (Logan) O’Neal, Joseph (Tracey) Clark, Richard (Jaqueline) Clark, E.J. (Jenna) Valeros, and Lena Valeros. She is also survived by siblings Chris (Karen) Santora, Sammy (Kathy) Santora, Johnny (Kimberly) Santora, James (Danielle) Santora, Billy Santora, Yvonne Oconn, Mary Collins, Anna Peterson, and David (Veronica) Valeros. In addition, she is survived by grandchildren Sydney (Bryce) Pope, Dalton Churchwell, London O’Neal, Leni O’Neal, Gabe Clark, Lily Clark, Hunter Clark, Lyle Clark, Isabella Clark, Daisy Coxwell, Payton Coxwell, Violet Coxwell, Lillie Coxwell, Chanel Valeros, Huey Valeros, Justice Valeros, Aliviya Valeros, Rainah Valeros, and Gunner Caroll, as well as their first great-granddaughter Madison Pope. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Arsie Pettit, a host of nieces and nephews and her beloved pets, Max and Zoe. Mrs. Valeros’ visitation will be held Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, with a service to follow at 12:30 PM at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue, Biloxi, MS. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, Biloxi, MS is honored to serve this family.
