Michael Anthony Chatagnier, born on October 30, 1953, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on October 23, 2018. He was with his family at his home in Biloxi.
Michael graduated from Biloxi High School in 1972 and then Jeff Davis Community College where he obtained an associate’s degree in drafting in 1974. He loved to build and work with his hands. He was an important asset in his career in construction where he excelled and was recognized many times for his leadership, work ethic and dedication.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Lodgie J. Chatagnier and Ernestine Brown Chatagnier; paternal grandparents, Clarence Chatagnier and 2nd wife, Margie Chatagnier and Mazie Blanchette Hildebrandt and 2nd husband, Don Hildebrandt; maternal grandparents, Joseph L. Brown and Eula Cleo Hardy Brown.
He is survived by his children, Tracy and Michael Adam Chatagnier; his grandsons, Michael Alexander Johnson and Benjamin Chatagnier; his ex-wife and best friend of 44 years, Cynthia Chatagnier; brothers, Rickie, Lodgie “Joe” and Dale Chatagnier; and sister, Starlitte C. Townsend. He was a loving father, brother and friend and he will be greatly missed.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 11am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Biloxi. Friends may gather one-hour prior. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. View and sign register book at www.bradfordokeefe.com
