Michael Dennis Fortier

Michael Dennis Fortier of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, passed away on the evening of December 12th, 2020 at the age of 78. Michael, or “Mike” (as he was known by close friends and family) was a hard-working businessman, loving father, and proud retiree of the United States Air Force. Born in Waterville, Maine, he moved several times throughout his life, residing in North Carolina, Missouri, Virginia, and Maryland, before finally settling in Mississippi in 2013. Mike served in the Air Force for 22 years, moving up the ranks to become a Master Sargent, but always continued to hold a deep love for both the military and his country. Extending beyond his military service, Mike’s career ranged from sales to the police force, and he later became a small business co-owner in the Washington DC area in the 80s and 90s, with a company that sold standby power systems and document disintegrators. Mike’s passions included travel and family, and his charismatic nature made him a close friend and confidant to many. He is survived by his four children: Michael Dennis Fortier, Jr of New Orleans, LA; Suzanne Marie Ott of Henderson, CO; Michelle Lynne Fortier of Raleigh, NC; and John Michael Fortier of Memphis, TN; five grandchildren: Jacqueline Fortier, Michael Fortier, Stephen Fortier, Leon Ott, and Ryan Ott; and four great-grandchildren.
