MSgt John Paul Tiblier, Sr. USMC (Ret), age 89, of Biloxi, joined his sweetheart, Liz and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in heaven on Saturday, October 14, 2017.
John was born in Biloxi, MS and graduated from Notre Dame High School, Biloxi, MS class of 1946 and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at age 17 and served his country honorably for 22 years. He had 2 tours of duty in the Korean War and 2 tours of duty in the Vietnam War. He was a flight engineer on C130 aircraft during which time he was awarded the air medal with 5 oak leaf clusters and numerous other military decorations. John and Liz enjoyed 12 years of Marine Corps life together.
John loved all his family and cooking for them every Sunday after mass where he was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Woolmarket, MS.
John was also an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves, Notre Dame Football and sailing on his sailboat “BREEZY”.
John is preceded in death by his parents, John P. and Ethel Tiblier; his loving wife of 60 years, Elizabeth; his children, Walter and Carolyn; and his siblings, Irma, Frances, Donald and James; and his grandson, Joshua Frazier.
His survivors include his sons, John P. (Beverly) Tiblier, Jr. and Timothy Tiblier; his daughter, Beth (Frankie) Barhonovich; his grandchildren, Matthew (Krystal) Tiblier, Jessica (Buddy) Walters, Laure’ LeBatard, David (Rebecca) LeCamu, Jr., Justin LeCamu, Patrick Green and Nicki (Mark) Haulman; 11 great-grandchildren; and 6 nieces and nephews.
John’s request was that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Jeremy Forehand Medical Account at any KFCU branch.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Woolmarket on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 9:30 am until mass time. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
