Nadine Marie Sekul, 60, of Ocean Springs passed away on Friday, August 21.
She was preceded in death by her father, Anthony Sekul. She is survived by her mother Barbara Ann Sekul, her sisters Katrina Sekul Virden and Maria Sekul, her brother Peter (Beth) Sekul, her nieces Claire Virden, Ashley Sekul, and Brianna Sekul, and her nephews, Todd Lyons and Peter Virden III.
Nadine was born in Biloxi, and graduated from Sacred Heart High School and continued her education at the University of South Alabama, graduating with B.S. degrees in business and marketing. She moved to Atlanta to begin her professional career and while working, continued her education at Mercer University, receiving an M.B.A. She was later drawn to California and lived there for some time before returning to her Gulf Coast home. Nadine recently obtained her realtor’s license and was actively selling real estate on the Gulf Coast.
Nadine loved her family, friends, and all animals; especially her little dog Luki that went everywhere with her. She loved life and everything it had to offer – adventure, joy, love, family, and friendship. She had an energy that few people could match. She was always inquisitive – wanting to know what was happening with everyone. She never met a stranger and was truly concerned about everyone.
She embraced the role of oldest child: taking charge, planning holiday dinners, birthdays, and other events to make each one a special occasion. She loved the Gulf Coast and lived every day to the fullest, no matter where she was.
She made an immediate and lasting impact on people she met, and her absence will be deeply felt.
Memorial donations can be made to the Humane Society of South Mississippi or Wildlife Care and Rescue Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Biloxi. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until Mass time.
