Nancy Lee Riedinger, 77, died December 12, 2020, with her family by her side in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
She was born January 23, 1943, in East Liverpool Ohio to George and Mary Ellen Fowler. Anyone who had the privilege to meet Nancy knows that she had a passion for helping others, and that is why she became a nurse. Nancy spent 41 years as an OBGYN nurse who helped deliver thousands of babies. In 1964 she began her career in Sheltering Arms Hospital and later at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, OH. From 1973-1983 she worked for St. Thomas Hospital in Akron, OH. In 1983 she moved to Sunset Beach, North Carolina to work as an OBGYN nurse and later manage the OB department of Brunswick Community Hospital in Supply, NC. She retired in 2005 and moved to Ocean Springs, MS to be near her daughter and her family. After retirement she volunteered for 13 years at Ocean Springs Hospital in the Auxiliary. She was an avid member of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish. She was involved in the Red Hatters and made many friends there. Her hobbies included reading novels, doing the morning crossword puzzle, going on shopping sprees and enjoying time at the beach with friends and family. She loved to spoil her grandchildren and was truly a joy to be around.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Ellen Fowler and brother, Terry Fowler; husbands, James McMullen Jr. and Morgan Riedinger; long-time companions, Gil Evangelist and John Yatalese; daughters, Tammy Vinas and Teresa Miller; and grandchildren Janice and Jeremy.
Nancy will be missed and survived by her children, Thomas (Amanda) McMullen, Kathleen (David) Pasquini, Tracy Morrison, Tanya (Rob) Zikoski, Tina Welch, and Bradley Hutchinson, grandchildren, Connor, Carson, Brandon, Danielle, Chrissy, Courtney, Brandey, Nichole, Bryce, Emily, Dakoda, Garrett, Jamie, Natalie, Carlie, Clint, Julie, and Zoe, many great-grandchildren, her sister and best friend, Marilyn (Elton) Stott and nieces, Lisa, Stephanie and Tina.
