Neil James Broussard

Neil James Broussard, age 60 of Biloxi, went into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 11, 2021. Neil was a lifelong resident of Biloxi and grew up on Point Cadet. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church as well as Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral. Neil was the owner of Pro Tech One and a member of the French Club. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending time on the water fishing, spending time with family and friends on the islands, and joking with anyone he knew. Neil always made his rounds visiting others each day and making them laugh. He was known for delivering famous speeches and bringing a smile to everyone’s face. Neil loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed every moment spent with his grandchildren. They were the loves of his life. He was a generous man who never met a stranger. Neil graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1979 and always joked he was cheated out of Class Valedictorian. He was chosen as Homecoming King and was an outstanding athlete. Neil is preceded by his father, Edward J. Broussard, II; father-in-law, Jimmie Skrmetta; and infant sister, Suzanne Broussard. Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Jamie Skrmetta Broussard; children, Neil Joseph Broussard (Sarah) and Jillian Broussard Selke (Shaun); and grandchildren, Anniston, Lillian and Ava Broussard and Beau Michael Selke; mother, Una Cruso Broussard; mother-in-law, Bobbie Jean Skrmetta; siblings, Edward “Zizzy” Broussard (Sue), Susan Arguelles (Charlie), Jock Broussard (Denise), Denise Broussard, Jody Broussard (Phyllis), Frankie Broussard (Sue), Keith Broussard (Peggy), Una Boswell (Bill), and Jamie Broussard (Catherine). In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. Michael Altar Society in his memory. The family request that friends please not share anything on Facebook or social media. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at St. Michael Catholic Church at 12:30 p.m. Friends may visit one hour prior. A private burial will be held at a later date.
