Otis Douglas Reagan, C/MSgt, Ret. USAF and a resident of Long Beach since 1960, died on February 11, 2020. He was born in Neshoba County, Union MS on November 27, 1918. His longevity was attributed to his love of fishing as it’s been said that every day spent fishing adds a day to your life. Sgt Reagan was preceded in death by his father, Thomas A. Reagan, his mother, Charity Williams Reagan Burkhalter, his wife of 70 years, Kathryn A. Dowdy Reagan; his son, Ronald S. Reagan; his son-in-law, Garry Evan Ruff; and his sister, Syble Sledgianowski. He is survived by his daughter Nancy Reagan Ruff, his daughter, Rebecca Reagan Hutto (Davis); his daughter-in-law Lucy Morrow Reagan, all of Long Beach, and his sister Geneva Rutledge of Mobile. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Steven Reagan, Jacob Reagan, Charles Head (Tracy), Brian Head (Amy), Cory Hutto (Ali), Eric Hutto (Sarah), Amelia Pate (Hunter) and two step-grandchildren, Lori Cripple (John) and Paul Ruff (Cindy). He is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Ella and Lucy Hutto, Hayes and Gray Hutto, Jack Pate and five step great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Maddie Cripple and Daniel, Craig and Reagan Ruff. Sgt Reagan was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War, having served 22 years in the Air Force from which he retired in 1960. He also was an instructor in Electronics and Computers at Keesler 12 more years retiring again in 1975. He was a long time Presbyterian, having served as elder, deacon, and Sunday School teacher. He attended Pineville Presbyterian Church. There will be a private Celebration of Life graveside service at a later date. His family would like to thank the staff of One Magnolia Place for caring for him for seven years and for Deaconess Hospice for his end of life care.
