Patrick Anthony Thornton

Mr. Patrick Anthony Thornton, Sr., age 75, of Biloxi passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018. Mr. Thornton was born in Biloxi on July 30, 1943. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was employed with the Biloxi Police Department for 13 years. He played music up and down the Coast touching many folks with his music. Mr. Thornton is preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Kay Esposito Thornton; parents, Ethridge Thornton and Gloria Sprinkles; and stepdad, Edward Collins Powell. Survivors include his daughters, Kimberly Thornton Freche (Donnie) of Biloxi and Laurie Thornton Taylor of Biloxi; son, Patrick Anthony (Mary) Thornton, Jr. of Biloxi; sister, Darlene Monk of Biloxi; brother, Collins Powell of Biloxi; 11 grandchildren, Amy, Jennifer, Justin, Patrick, Meghan, Duston, Gavin, Summer, Amber, Kayleigh and Josh; and 17 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral. Friends may visit 2 hours prior. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
