Priska Sophia Chatman, age 76, went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on September 8, 2021. Ms. Chatman was a retired military widow who worked in the health care field for over 15 plus years as a hospice caregiver.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Retired Sergeant First Class Leroy Chatman; her father Franz Alex; mother Elfriede Beuchert Alex and brother Hurst Alex, all from Germany; father and mother-in-law, James and Hattie Chatman of Moss Point, MS; brother-in -law Cecil Chatman; and nephews William Banks and Marvin Chatman.
Ms. Chatman is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Thomas Chatman (Vernelle) of New Orleans, LA; Carlos Chatman (Kimberly) of Gulfport, MS; daughter Petra Chatman of Fayetteville, NC; sister Irene Wyatt of Seaside, CA; 5 grandchildren Antoine, Izaiah, Caleb, Christian, Khloe; and a host of brothers and sisters-in-law.
The family would like to thank One Magnolia Place Assisted Living Retirement Center for the outstanding care of Ms. Chatman; Ms. Robinson for her leadership; Tamera, Joy and the entire staff for their dedication and service.
Visitation will be Monday, September 13, 2021, at the O’Neal Road location of Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS.
