Raymond Rene Goff, 83, of Vancleave passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 13, 2020. He was born in Vancleave, MS on October 25, 1936. Rene was a graduate of Vancleave High School where he played the position of center on Vancleave’s very first football team. He was a lifelong member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Rene retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding after 33 years of dedication to his craft as a pipe welder. He was an avid reader and he loved to travel. Rene was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by many.
Rene was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Catherine Harvison Goff; parents, William Scott and Sarah Bertha Lee Goff; brother, Floyd Goff; two sisters, Verla Sonnier and Aarona Inabinette.
He is survived by his four children, Darlene (Steve) Dobson of Soddy Daisy, TN, Dianne (Carl) Vince, Darnell (Lanetta) Goff, and Belinda (Vernon) Gazzo all of Vancleave, MS; seven grandchildren, Brandon (Brooke) Dobson of Hixson, TN, Amber (Andrew) Petrosius of Seward, AK, Garrett (Pamela) Goff and Michaela Goff of Vancleave, MS, Vernon (Katie) Gazzo II of Petal, MS, Angela (Matt) Warf of Burns, TN, Shane Blankinchip of Vancleave, MS; and twelve great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2020. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Ocean Springs, is blessed to serve this family.
