Rev. Roger Dean Alexander I, age 66 of Long Beach, Ms, went to meet the Lord while preaching Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Vancleave Holiness Church. He was born on December 17, 1950 in Gul fport, Ms. He was preceded in death by his parents, Salvador and Mildred Alexander and one sister, Barbara Hodges of Long Beach. He leaves behind one brother, David Alexander and wife, Lois of Long Beach and one sister, Dot Allen of Gulfport, Ms. He graduated from Long Beach High School and went to work at Gulf Coast Mosquito Control. He was the proud owner of Gulf Coast Portable Buildings. God called him to preach in 1974 and he ministered for 43 years. He carried such a burden tor the lost. He gave his life for the Gospel's sake. He pastored Gulfport Holiness Church, Long Beach Holiness Church, and Zion Holiness Church of Vian, OK. He was a deacon and young people's Sunday school teacher. He resided at his childhood home place" Salvador Drive" from the age of 8 years old until his passing. He was an avid bow hunter and fisherman. He loved to take his children and grandchildren hunting. He taught them to love God, put Him first in their lives, and to enjoy the great outdoors. Those who will carry on his legacy and cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 43 years, Ronda (Bigot) Alexander; four children, Dean Alexander and wife, Cheryl; Rev. Aaron Alexander and wife, Monica; Cherish Alexander; Courage Alexander and husband, Joel; eight grandchildren, Conner, Cooper, Cody, Olivia, Liberty, Lakelynn, Bowdrie, and Paisley. His grandchildren were the love of his life. One special son Micheal McNeil. He was loved by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. Service-Community of Christ Church 12206 Mount Pleasant Rd, Vancleave, Ms. 39565 Date- August 31, 2017 Time- Visitation 10:00 a.m Funeral 1:00 p.m. Ministers- Rev. Ray Asher and Rev. Aaron Alexander. Special friend Lee Allen (read obituary). Pallbearers- Johnny Padgett, David Hodges, Joey Hodges, Dewayne Jett, Joel Gaither, and Amos Stewart. Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home is charge of arrangements.
