Reverend Marlyn C. Krob

Reverend Marlyn C. Krob, age 87, was called home to be with his best friend Jesus on June 24, 2019. He was surrounded by his family and many wonderful friends. His was a life well lived in serving his Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Marlyn was born in Hutchinson, KS, to Reuben and Amanda Krob on October 12, 1931. The family moved to Tacoma, WA when he was twelve, where he spent his teenage years. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1949 and joined the Navy in January 1951. He was stationed in Norfolk, VA, and his life was never the same after that because that is where he met the love of his life Parmilee E. Krob. He told her, “Stick with me baby and we will go places!” She did and they have gone places, moving 33 times and traveling the world together for business and ministry. Marlyn and Parmilee were married in December 1952. After his discharge from the Navy in 1954, Marlyn went back to school at Eastern Bible Institute, now known as Valley Forge Christian College in Valley Forge, PA. After graduation, he pastored churches in Maine and Maryland before joining the Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES). In 1975, AAFES transferred him to Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS, where he served as General Manager of all base exchanges in Mississippi. By 1979, they were ready to move him again when he decided, enough is enough. He resigned, took his retirement, and purchased the Christian Book Shoppe in Pascagoula, MS. Under his leadership the business grew from one store to three. When he retired in 1994 the Christian Book Shoppe was the largest privately owned book stores in Mississippi. Marlyn and Parmilee joined Mission America Placement Service (MAPS) and traveled the country in their RV. They together worked and helped wherever they were needed for campgrounds, churches, or universities. In 2000, they were appointed state directors of Marriage Ministry International. That flowed into them developing the ministry of Couples Discovery Weekends where hundreds of couples were ministered to by a wonderful group of faithful workers and prayer warriors. This ministry was followed by One Flesh Ministry, where they took marriage ministry to the New England states, the Carolinas, Uganda, Africa, and Mexico. It was a wonderful time of fruitful ministry. While doing all of this they also ministered to couples one-on-one. In 2011, Marlyn was pastoring at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, Ocean Springs, MS, and working with Market Place Ministries. He was recognized as Chaplain of the Year. During this time signs of Dementia began developing. He fought a good fight against it, but it prevailed, and he went to be with his Lord. No regrets for a ‘life well lived’. He was faithful to his Lord, his wife, and his family. His godly example and genuine love will be deeply missed. Marlyn was preceded in death by his parents Reuben and Amanda Krob of Eagle Point, OR. His brother Lowell Krob of Puyallup, WA. His sister Barbara Burns of Eagle Point, OR. Four great-grandchildren, Eli Bates, Boston Bates, Amelia Coroy and Zoe Seymour. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Parmilee Krob; his four children, Karen (Robert) Hicks of Humansville, MO, Barbara (Jerry) Seymour of Cumming, GA, Marla (John) Coroy of Ocean Springs, MS, and Jeff (Kathy) Krob of Snow Hill, MD. Eight grandchildren, Michelle (Mike) Bates of Humansville, MO, Amanda (Craig) Bellisario of Rochdale, MA, Jonathan (Mandy) Seymour of Greer, SC, USAF Major Ryan (Katie) Seymour of Great Falls, MT, Michael (Amanda) Coroy of Biloxi, MS, David (Chi) Coroy of Ocean Springs, MS, Matthew Brooks and Melissa Brooks both of Snow Hill, MD; ten great-grandchildren. And numerous nieces, nephews, and other relations including a multitude of Spiritual children. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. A celebration of “life well lived” will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019 at Center Pointe Church, 6201 Hwy 57, Ocean Springs, MS. The family would like to thank the staff at Ocean Springs Health and Rehabilitation for their kind and loving care of our loved one.
