Robert George Desnoyers

Robert G. Desnoyers, age 73, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 at home in Gulfport, MS. A native of Chicopee, Massachusetts, he was a graduate of Springfield College, the University of Connecticut and a U. S. Army Veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Biloxi. He retired from the University of Connecticut (UConn) and was a professor at Mid-Continent University in Mayfield, KY from which he received an Honorary Doctorate at his retirement. Mr. Desnoyers was preceded in death by his son, Derek Todd Desnoyers. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Grace Dycus Desnoyers; son, Gavin (Amanda Kaye) Desnoyers and their children Jackson, Morgan, Mackenzie, Charis and Miles; daughter-in-law, Amanda Nicole Desnoyers and her daughters Alexandria (Lexie) and Emma Kate; three sisters, Leonne Viverito, Loris (Ed) McNulty and Lenore (Warren) Compton; one brother, Ronald Desnoyers and his beloved caregiver Lillian Bodisch. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to St. Jude Tribute Program, P O Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2017 at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
