Robert (RJ) J. Murrah

Robert (RJ) J. Murrah, 90, passed away in Ft. Worth, TX on Sun., August 9, 2020. RJ was a long- time resident of Ocean Springs, MS. He was born on January 19, 1930 to Eula Guillotte and Homer Allen Murrah. RJ graduated from Moss Point High School in 1948. He attended MS Gulf Coast Jr College from 1954-1955 and USM from 1956-1958. RJ was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Alhambra. He was employed at Ingalls from 1958-1963, NASA from 1963-1970, and Ingalls from 1970-1992. RJ served in the Army Air Corp. from 1949-1952 and the Air Force from 1972-1988. He enjoyed camping and bowling. He is preceded in death by his mother, Eula Guillotte; father, Homer Allen Murrah; brother, L.C. Guillottee; sister, Karria Mae Gutierrez; and wife, Bonnie Murrah. RJ is survived by his sons, Robert J. (Sonia) Murrah II and Donald S. (Alma) Murrah; daughters, Lisa Gaye Hales and Judy Gehrmann; sister, Pat McElroy; grandchildren, Anthony Robinson, Andre Murrah, Melisa Sellers, Michael Murrah, Chad Murrah, and Jennifer Olk; and great-grandchildren, Arriana Sellers, Liam Murrah, Jaxson Sellers, AJ Robinson, Aria Robinson, and Oliver Olk. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private graveside service will be held on Mon., August 17, 2020 at Biloxi National Cemetery.
